Trails Committee Current Projects

The Trails Committee is currently working on the following projects:

• Ferry Road Extension: Work is underway to prepare bid packages for design and construction of a trail alongside the south side of Ferry Road. This extension will bring trail users down from the end of the Village Loop Trail to the railroad, and continue on the west side of the railroad to a Ferry Road crossing that will connect with the Cowboy Lewis Trail. Once completed, trail signage and maps will be updated to designate this section of the Village Loop starting at the Old Lantern as the Town Link Trail.
• Cowboy Lewis Trail: This mowed trail will be linked to the Village Loop Trail where it ends on Ferry Road. The bridge crossing over a ditch has been raised, rebuilt and anchored so it will not move during high water events. Eventually the trail will connect to Lake Road, bringing the trail system closer to the beach.
• Dunbar Property: The grass trail from the Burns Property to Town Hall along the western side of the Dunbar property and behind the Post Office is completed. Signage will mark the entrance and the committee is exploring possible mitigation for wet sections of the trail.
